There was much excitement in the air yesterday. For we were due to hear the announcement of the lineup for the 2011 St Jerome's Laneway Festival. And we weren't not let down at all. While last year's festival (the first held in Rozelle) was heavily British in flavour, this one has a deeply American accent. And it sounds very, very good. A lot of highly acclaimed bands, some return visitors, some first time tourists. Naturally Menomena was the one name above all that got me excited. Plus Deerhunter, Beach House and Local Natives are not too shabby either. I will definitely buying a ticket when they go on sale next Wednesday, October 20.
